Mesa State men's golf team is picked to finish tied for eighth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Preseason Poll. Defending RMAC Champion UC-Colorado Springs is picked to repeat receiving 5 first place votes. Fort Lewis and Western New Mexico each received 2 first place votes, tied for second in the poll. Colorado Christian is picked fourth and Colorado Mines, receiving 1 first place vote is picked fifth.
UC-Colorado Springs’ Chris Shoop, RMAC Golfer of the Year in 2009-2010 is picked as RMAC Preseason Golfer of the Year.
Mesa State under new coach Paul Brown will open the season September 7-8 at the Grizzly Invitational in Alamosa, Colorado. The Maverick Fall Invitational will be played October 4-5 at The Golf Club at Redlands Mesa.
The Mavs begin their second season as an inter-collegiate varsity sport.
