Chomko earns Scholar Athlete of the Year

Jordan Chomko was named the Mavericks’ Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Honor Student Athlete for 2009-10. Chomko earned the honor along with female honoree, Tessa Andrews (volleyball).
Chomko (Littleton, CO) led the Mavericks to its first every NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament this past May in Florida. A finance major, he carried a 3.82 cumulative grade point average and was named RMAC Academic Player of the Year in men’s tennis. He was a unanimous All-Academic First Team selection and First Team All-Conference in singles (#1) and doubles (#1). Chomko’s outstanding year earned him Central Region Senior Player of the Year honor.
School officials from each of the RMAC institutions (14) selected a male and female student athlete for the year ending honor. To be eligible for the RMAC Honor Student-Athlete award, individuals must be an athlete in one of the conference-sponsored championship sports; carry at least a 3.30 Grade Point Average (GPA); be a starter or reserve on their respective team; be of good character and must have participated at the active member institution for two (2) or more seasons. True freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible for this award.
