The Mesa State Baseball team reeled in a few more post season awards today.
Daktronics released their All-Central Region Team today. The Daktronics team is voted on by the sports information directors of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
Brett Nigbur (Jr., Taylorsville, UT) was named to the 2nd Team All-Central Region by Daktronics. Nigbur has compiled a .453 batting average with 14 doubles and 14 homeruns. Brett was named to the 3rd Team in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference last week.
The ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association) released its All-Central Region team and their Gold Glove Team. The ABCA is voted on by the Head Coaches of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
Ken Evanson (Jr., Pittsburg, CA) was named to the 2nd Team All-Central Region team. Evanson batted .389 with 13 doubles and 3 homeruns. Evanson was an All-RMAC 2nd Team performer.
Austin Buck (Sr., Denver, CO) was named 1st Team All-Central Region Gold Glove team. Buck fielded .963 from his shortstop position which led the RMAC. Buck has committed only 8 errors in 216 oppurtunities.
Joining Buck on the Gold Glove team is Brian Bello (Jr., Ft. Collins, CO) and Brett Nigbur as both were named to the 2nd Team. Bello fielded .981 from centerfield with 2 assists. Bello made numerous catches that saved runs for the Mavericks this season. Nigbur fielded .991 with only 2 errors on the season. Nigbur threw out 33% of potential base stealers.
