RMAC Final Results
Kristina Casillas placed second overall with back-to-back rounds of 76 in the RMAC Golf Championships at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, AZ. Casillas led the Mavericks to third place with a team total 648. Montana State Billings was first (638) and host Western New Mexico was second (644).
MSC shaved eight strokes off day one’s round of 328 shooting 320 on Tuesday. With Casillas shooting back-to-back 76, her teammates cut anywhere from one to five strokes off their Monday score.
Jessica Berve tied for seventh place with 158 (81-77) and Michelle Stripp tied for 12th at 167 (84-83). Jennifer Hilts (87-84) and Afton Balling (89-84) finished tied for 19th and 23rd respectively.
The 10-team tournament included 48 golfers.
MSC entered the RMAC tournament ranked #2 in the NCAA DII Central Regional rankings. Nine teams earn post season bids. The selections will be announced Monday, April 26 at 4 p.m. MST and broadcast online at www.ncaa.com.
MSC was crowned RMAC Regular Season Champion. The overall regular season champion was determined by combining the score of the 2009 RMAC women's fall golf championship and the spring championship.
