Final Results

Mesa State men’s golf team finished fifth at the Bob Wirtz Invitational at Plum Creek Country Club in Castle Rock. The one day 36-hole invitational tournament was hosted by Colorado School of Mines.

 MSC posted a two-round team total 627 for fifth place, 21 strokes behind first place CSU-Pueblo (606). Colorado Christian was runner-up carding a team total 621. Regis University (622) placed third, Nebraska-Kearney (626) was fourth and host Colorado School of Mines finished in sixth place (633).

 Brandon Bingaman tied for third overall with rounds of 76-73 for a 149. John Savage posted a 78-78 for 157 and tied for 14th place. Eric Farmer tied for 19th (82-78-160) and Calan Hoppe tied for 21st (82-79-161). Cody Miller’s 179 (88-91) placed 38th overall.

 CSU-Pueblo’s Bryan Kruse (72, 73; +1) earned medalist honors with rounds of 72-73-145) and Oklahoma Panhandle State University’s Julian Figueroa finished second carding a 151 (75, 76).

 MSC will play in Colorado Springs on Monday and Tuesday at the Air Force Academy Invitational.
