Daktronics All-America Second Team,
Division II Bulletin All-America Honorable Mention

Senior guard
Mike Dominguez was named to the Daktronics Division II All-America Second Team announced earlier today. Dominguez is the first Mesa State Maverick to earn All-America status since MSC became a Division II institution. Dominguez was named Honorable Mention All-America by the Division II Bulletin, a monthly newsletter of Division II men's basketball.

Dominguez earned Central Region Player of the Year honors helping the Mavericks to the post season regional tournament and the teams first ever Division II tournament victory. Dominguez earned Central Region All-Tournament honors averaging a tournament high 30.0 points per game.

He was selected Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year and was a unanimous First Team All-RMAC as well as RMAC West Division Player of the Year and First Team West Division honoree.

Dominguez averaged a team high 21.6 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game. He led the team in steals (44) and was second on the team in assists (101). He led the team in free throws (.819) 3-point field goals (75) and shot .527 from the field. He scored in double figures in 28 of the Mavs 29 games and scored a career high 41 points in the regional semifinal game versus Augustana.

Dominguez was invited to the 2010 NABC/Division II All-Star game held in conjunction with the Elite Eight in Springfield, Mass., Friday, March 26. Dominguez becomes the first Maverick to play in the NABC/Division II All-Star game.

Mesa State’s Jon Baskin (1991), Eric Hawkins (1986) and Shawn Smith (1985) were NAIA All-Americans at MSC.
