MSC women's team in fourth place at RMAC Championships

Day Two RMAC Swimming/Diving Championships

Mesa State women’s swim team remained in fourth place following day two of the RMAC Swimming/Diving Championships at Meyers Pool in Arvada, CO. The MSC men’s team is in fifth place.

MSC had three women qualified with national “B” times on Friday afternoon. Kelly Hogan won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:48.42. Katie Wedel finished second in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:41.97. Jaclyn McMillen placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.41. All three Mavericks can qualify for the national championships with an “A” time qualify time in a relay.

Diver Abby Cook placed fourth with 364.40 points.

MSC’s relay team of Kelly Hogan, Sarah Hagerstrom, Jaclyn McMillen and Katie Wedel recorded a third place fnish in the 800-yard freestyle in a time of 7:59.90. 

 The Mesa State men’s relay teams recorded fifth place finishes in the 800-yard and 200-yard freestyle.

Scott Strehlow finished fifth in the 1,000 free in a time of 10:12.75. The men’s relay team placed fifth in the 800-yard free (Dan MacDonald, Travis Pahler, Strehlow, Justin Skall) and 200-yard free (Strehlow, MacDonald, Pahler, Eric Flemming) in 7:29.75 and 1:29.00 respectively.
