Mesa State defeated Johnson & Wales Sunday afternoon in a non-conference game in Denver. The win is the Mavs second consecutive win and second road win this season. The win improved their overall record to 6-11.
The Mavs were led by Meagan Selvidge’s 23 points, 7 of 12 from beyond the arc, and five boards. Hannah Breidel finished with 13 points and five rebounds.
Courtney McCaig had a game high seven rebounds and added 12 points. Alaina Brennan finished with 11 points, three assists and three rebounds.
MSC shot 51.1 percent (24-47) from the field and hit 12 of 21 from the 3-point line. MSC dominated the boards, out rebounding the Wildcats 43-18.
MSC will play non-conference opponent Northern New Mexico Tuesday in Espanola, before returning home to host Fort Lewis College Friday night at Brownson Arena.
