Mesa State women’s and men’s tennis teams are predicted to finish first and second respectively in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference coaches poll released from the conference office.
The women’s team received four first place votes and tied in the voting with University of Neb.-Kearney, who received two first place votes. Both teams received 11 total points. MSC is the defending RMAC champion. Metro State, receiving one first place vote is picked third.
Juniors Kate Lowder and Victoria Sargent and sophomore Kelleen Sera were named to the Preseason All-RMAC team.
The women begin the season on February 27 at Dixie State.
The men’s team is picked second in the poll behind favorite Western New Mexico. The Mesa men finished fourth last season.
Senior Jordan Chomko was named to the All-RMAC Team.
MSC will open the 2010 campaign February 20 at Utah State.
