The 3rd Ranked Nebraska-Kearney Lopers proved to be too much for the 20th Ranked Mavericks last night as they won the RMAC dual 33-6. The Lopers put their three ranked wrestlers in the lineup and got big wins from each of them.
4th Ranked 133 pounder Joey Morrison defeated Maverick Freshman Chris Rubalcaba 9-2. 6th Ranked 149 pounder TJ Hepburn beat Freshman Tyler Juby 11-5 and Top Ranked 174 pounder Marty Usman pinned Sophomore Justin Grosse.
The Mavericks got wins out of 2nd Ranked Senior Chase Walker and Redshirt Freshman Matt Chavez. Walker won his match over Jordan Gienger 5-1 and Chavez defeated Zach Starostka 10-9.
The Mavericks will be back in action tonight against the Ft. Hays State Tigers in Hays, Kansas.
