        Kevin Becker was named Preseason 1st Team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association yesterday. Becker was named a 1st Team All-American last season by the NCBWA. Kevin won the honor last season at 2nd base but will move to the outfield in 2010.

        Last season, Becker hit .468 with 18 doubles and a school record 10 triples. He was also third on the team with 7 homeruns.

        Becker was the only Maverick named to the team and one of only two players from the RMAC on the list. DH Jason Carr from New Mexico Highlands was named to the 2nd Team.

        The Mavericks will open the season on February 5th in St. George, UT. Mesa State will take on the Dixie State Red Storm in a four game series.
