Bennett Newton, the Mavs outstanding linebacker was named Daktronics Super Region 3 second team defense.
Newton, a senior from Castle Rock, CO, led the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in tackles with 121 total tackles, including 37 solo and an average of 11 tackles per game. Newton registered 8.5 tackles for loss yardage (31-yards), 4.5 sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery he returned 51-yards for a touchdown.
Newton earned RMAC All-Conference second team defense honors earlier this month.
